 80227 Benefits Manager Southern Connecticut

SALARY: $160-170k plus bonus

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Manager, Benefits is responsible for ensuring that the Company is providing its employees with the highest level of benefits administration as well as overseeing all related processes and procedures.  The individual must have a strong customer service focus, resolving any and all employee issues quickly and effectively. 

  • Developing and implementing a strategic vision for the Company's benefits group
  • Implementation of all of the Company's benefits, ensuring that the best products and services are being offered; includes understanding the current market trends on all benefits (including, but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, Life, 401K, & vacation), researching alternative providers to assure best coverage, and price negotiations with current vendors
  • Overseeing the daily administration of all benefits and COBRA for 500+ employees including new enrollments, enrollment changes, and terminations; facilitating new hire orientation on all benefits
  • Superior understanding of federal laws pertaining to benefits, such as FMLA, COBRA, ADA, etc.
  • Managing one employee
  • Advising current employees on all benefit questions/issues on an ongoing basis
  • Overseeing workers compensation process when applicable
  • Implementing special benefit programs such as flu clinics
  • Overseeing vacation calendar company wide
  • Creating best practices for all leave of absences
  • Reconciling monthly bills
  • Ad hoc projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree with strong academic record
  • Five plus years of related business experience preferred
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb interpersonal and project management skills
  • Strong customer service focus, highly organized, responsible, and detail oriented
  • Common sense approach to problem solving and prioritization
  • Ability to make decisions within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize and process a high volume of work while maintaining the highest quality
  • Individual with high energy and a proactive attitude who seeks to contribute and improve efficiency in all areas
  • Comfortable giving and receiving criticism
  • Flexible, open-minded, and comfortable asking questions
