81002 - Benefits Manager - Norwalk, CT area

SALARY:
$75-90k plus 10% bonus

 

REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Compensation and Benefits

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Benefits Manager is responsible for the health and welfare and related benefits for the Company.  Position offers a unique blend of strategy and the day to day implementation of programs and trouble shooting, including providing input on design, tracking of costs, implementation of new initiatives and coordination across multiple locations, data feeds and vendor management.

  • Project leader for design, communication and administration of the Company health and welfare and related benefit plans, coordination with team members and outside consultants on projects and maintenance of the following plans:  Medical, Prescription, Dental, Vision, Employee Assistance, Life, AD&D, Voluntary, STD, LTD, Workers Comp and Leaves.

  • Overall Responsibility for communications, benefit delivery and support to HR staff in all locations.      

  • Prepare/coordinate communications materials, including plan summaries, summary plan descriptions, brochures, memos and other materials as needed for publication on paper and electronically, including the intranet.    

  • Open enrollment process and systems.                                                                                         

  • Integrity of data feeds between HRMS, open enrollment system and carriers.                                    

  • Workers comp and leave of absence plans, including FMLA, STD, LTD and others, including claims reviews, compliance and contract renewals. 

  • Managing and developing staff

  • Ensure HIPPA compliance

  • Respond to escalated employee inquiries and resolve issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in related field and five years benefits experience

  • Project Management experience, from conception through implementation.

  • Health and Welfare vendor experience, including relationship management and negotiation.

  • Health and Welfare benefits plan design and analysis.

  • Knowledge of Benefit laws and regulations: ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPPA.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • HRMS system experience.

  • Crystal Reporting or similar report writing experience.

  • Microsoft Office, including intermediate excel

  • Detail oriented with excellent follow up skills
